Holiday time is on, and that little baby is getting brighter-eyed and bushier-tailed by the moment. Last week, everyone pitched in while making dinner, with Mik and I taking on the bread, and Casey taking on the Arabian Rice and Lentil Soup from Appetite for Reduction. Ciaran oversaw the whole thing, cooing with delight at our kitchen antics which involve no shortage of wacky dance moves.
The consensus? Having gluten-free bread warm from the oven is a glorious, glorious thing. Pictured is a petite buckwheat round from Gluten-Free and Vegan Bread. This recipe is really easy, makes inventive use of chia seeds, and is the perfect size for our family. Everyone really liked it; it’s dense and filling. The soup was a huge hit as well–savory with a bit of tang from the lemon zest/juice. Tiny Overlord up there really enjoyed watching all the action, even if his concept of what amounts to food as yet to leave my bra! Hope everyone had a very lovely Thanksgiving.
